tiny bets no. 05 ~ rocket fuel 🚀
Certain ingredients + daily rituals/habits (aka Rocket Fuel) = a better-than-average chance of success.
hellllooooo!
I unplugged recently in the forest for almost 2 weeks and it was glorious. It’s my favorite time to do deep thinking without the stress of every day life.
One thing I was thinking on was this:
There are a lot of ingredients that go into the daily “dish” of life — a mix of:
🍕 things that most literally keep us alive (food, hydration)
📌 choices we make (thoughts, actions)
⚡️ the occasional wild card (a little spice, zest, spontaneity).
These ingredients + daily rituals/habits = a better-than-average chance of success.
Sure — you can’t make progress on your tiny bets if you're not actually taking action. It’s like someone expecting to place in the Le Mans without ever pushing down the gas pedal.
Just because you think it, does not mean it'll become reality without action.
BUT.
Your actions won’t be nearly as powerful if you don’t have this essential ingredient.
As my mind was wandering in the middle of the forest, I started thinking about how it’s wild that certain people experience parabolic success (multi-million dollar companies, a-list actors, musicians, writers, etc)
I was trying to figure out what is it that people who seemed to break free and shatter any limit to their success, visibility, platform, or income had, that someone else may not (yet).
Were they super focused? Yah.
Were they very action-oriented? Mmhmm.
Were they ready for when the right opportunity arrived? Sure.
So wtf is it?
I’m convinced the essential, hidden ingredient is BELIEF.
Every interview I’ve watched/listened to and everything I see around these particular people is centered around the belief that they COULD. That the end result of what they wanted to achieve was inevitable.
Belief is the explosive rocket fuel that makes everything else stronger.
You can do all the things above, but if you don’t really believe those actions are gonna get you somewhere… then what’s the point? The universe will be like “Yeah, nevermind. We’ll go ahead and give this one to someone else.”
And it’s not like it immediately erases doubts and fears. They still exist, but they are outweighed by the belief that it’s possible.
When I had that realization, I started questioning my beliefs. Do I *really* believe I can make a particular dream come true? (Or goal -- whatever. I dislike that word.)
I realized I had some blockers around what that success would be like for me, so I def need to work through them.
Small thoughts or blockers that make us hesitate or not fully commit to our belief can be lurking underneath the surface and make us feel like we can't do it, without us even realizing they exist. 🤨
So tossing the question over to you: Think about your biggest “I don’t want to leave this earth without experiencing this” dream.
And "biggest" doesn't imply your dream has to be something insanely different from who you are or what you're doing now. Or even "biggest" as in something only .05% of people are likely to achieve. It just means "biggest" to you.
Do you actually believe you can achieve it? The question might surprise you when you think really hard about it.
Belief is a necessity in life. Your tiny bets depend on it.
Cheers to tiny bets,
